SomosAfro.org is an international initiative led by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) that seeks active and proactive participation of people, groups, communities, and organizations interested in developing and empowering Afro-descendant peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean through a virtual platform and social media.
This platform connects Afro-descendant communities in Latin America and the Caribbean with their representatives in local governments. The platform allows citizens to develop ideas to solve problems that affect their communities. The most popular ones (most voted by the virtual community) can be analyzed and implemented by subnational governments.
